Why Being Both an Interior Designer and a Licensed Real Estate Agent Is My Secret Advantage

People always ask me: “Wait… are you a designer or a Realtor?”

My answer? Yes.

I’m both — and honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Being an Interior Designer with a real estate license gives me a completely different lens when I walk into a home. I don’t just see pretty finishes and paint colors. I see value. I see resale. I see lifestyle alignment. I see opportunity.

When I tour a property with a buyer, I’m not just thinking:

  • “Is this kitchen updated?”

  • “Is this furniture layout the best flow?"

I’m thinking:

  • What would it cost to rework this floor plan?

  • Is this a load bearing wall?

  • How can we elevate this space without over-improving for the neighborhood?

  • What upgrades would bring the highest ROI?

That combination changes everything.

From a design perspective, I help clients see beyond what’s currently there. A dated light fixture doesn’t scare me. Awkward layouts don’t intimidate me. I can mentally redesign the space in seconds and explain it in a way that feels exciting instead of overwhelming.

From a real estate perspective, I’m always protecting the investment. I understand comps. I understand appraisal impact. I understand what buyers in this price point expect; especially here in Central Florida’s luxury market.

And when you blend those two worlds together?

You get strategy.

You get someone who can: ✔️ Help you buy smart ✔️ Design intentionally ✔️ Renovate with purpose ✔️ Sell at maximum value

It’s not just about making a home beautiful. It’s about making it valuable.

I truly believe the future of real estate is more integrated. Buyers don’t just want access to listings. They want guidance. They want vision. They want someone who understands construction, design, lifestyle, and long-term equity.

For me, design and real estate aren’t separate careers. They’re two sides of the same coin.

If you’re buying, building, renovating, or preparing to sell ; I’d love to show you how design strategy can completely change your real estate experience.

Let’s create something beautiful… and smart.
